[Oman-L] Dhows under sail

I would like to thank everybody who responded to my request for information
about dhows under sail.

A photographer in Ireland told me about the dhow sailing races in Dubai,
and, following up Joachim's suggestion about Lamu lying just off North
Kenya, I did come across an article about the dhow sailing races there too.

Dhows used to sail from boat-yards in Karachi, but this seems to be a
historical event.

I wasn't able to find any reference to commercial dhows using sails at the
present time.
