We believe you will be interested to know that the 2nd, greatly expanded
edition of 'Aspects of Omani Postal History' by Alastair Gunn and Cal Allen
(well known for his published works on more general aspects of Omani History
including 'Oman under Qaboos') is now available.

It is a 66 page spiral metal bound A4 booklet with colour cover and
approximately 204 black and white illustrations. The chapters are - circular
date stamps, registration labels, registration date stamps, machine date
stamps, meter marks, On Postal Service marks, First Day Cancel date stamps,
Field Post Offices, Miscellaneous, BPAEA postal rates 1948, 'State of Oman',
Postal Code information and a bibliography. It is a major expansion from our
first edition covering new areas and further refining of dates.

It covers from the very start of the Muscat Post Office in 1864 until 2003!
If you are at all interested in the postal history of Muscat and Oman you
need this book. It also obviously thoroughly reworks Neil Donaldson's
material.

If you are interested in buying a copy the cost is £20, 30 Euros or $37 post
free. Please either send cash (obviously at your risk) or a cheque drawn on
a UK based bank. If you wish to pay by Paypal please add another £1 / $2 to
cover their cost. You would need to pay awgunn@tiscali.co.uk .

If sending cash please email at the above address and I will send details.

best wishes
Alastair Gunn
